Taken from an image of a Hackney local. A conversation was struck between the artist and the subject, in the streets of Dalston, Charlie Elke's birthplace. Interested in Elke's practice, the subject asked to be photographed. Elke believes Hackney to be the source of their life pursuit of creativity and the painted image. This piece, a study amongst others, stands out as Elke believes, in the life captured in the subject's eyes.
